Criterias to consider when buying a house

Buying a house is an important decision everyone has to make in life. In can be a simple apartments or a built bungalow. However, one will be living within that four walls for a long period of time. So it is good to consider simple vastu criterias before buying a property; either for investing or to move in.

Nowadays it is almost impossible to find houses which complies 100% with rules of vastu. However, if any property complies up to 40% rules of vastu will do. Below are a few simple, easy to understand tips to follow when choosing any kind of property.

2 main factors; Macro factor which consist of studying the external environment around the plot. The micro factor is about the plot and the house itself.

Macro factor:
First get a compass, stand in the plot facing outward and locate the cardinal directions which are North, South, East or West. Try to avoid non-alignment houses like Northeast, Southeast, Southwest or Northwest. Once the directions are acquired go through the checklist below:

1. Consult a learnt astrologer to acquire your lucky direction and choose your house accordingly or the best choice is East facing house, North, West then South.
2. Next, plots facing any of the directions are actually fine. However, proper placing of main gate and the main door and the design of plot which decides the well being of occupants. For an example, it is good to have an East facing house. However, having the main gate along the East of Southeast zone is a vastu defect already.
3. Choose a plot which has high hills, buildings or any tall objects along the South and West sides.
4. Any water features, like lake or rivers should only be along North and East sides. Any other directions is best to avoid. River flow is also important. It should flow towards East or North direction.
4. There should not be any obstruction like, electric poles, trees or high objects along the North and East zones. Water features along South and West zones is to be avoided strictly.
5. If a plot is along a slope, the slope should be towards North or East. Avoid plots which has South or West slopes.
6. Plots facing T-junction can be a serious issue. One need to understand not all T-junction plots are inauspicious. In vastu, any sides of a plot has 2 faces which are positive zone and negative zone. T-junction plots which faces North or East are considered good. If the road ends at the positive zone it is good. Consult a Vastu Specialist on this. However, to be on safe hands avoid T-junction plots.

Once you have chosen the ideal plot or house then consider the micro factors:

1. First, the shape of the plot must be either Square or Rectangle. Measuring the Length and Width of the plot, the ratio should be not more than 1:2 in size.
2. If one is buying a semi detached house or a bungalow, consider having more land vacant along the North and East zones.
3. Cut-offs along the plot is a trend nowadays which cannot be avoided especially on a corner unit house. Try to avoid cut-offs especially along the Northeast and Southwest zones. For best results, avoid any cut-offs.
4. Next, consider fixing the main gate and main door along the postive zone of the plot. Refer to the direction provided below. If it is a non-alignment plot, then its good to consult a Vastu Specialist to decide on this.
5. Houses, rooms or any part of the houses should only have 4 corners. Having more than 4 corners is inauspicious. The positive vibration of the room is reduced.
6. Houses nowadays comes with extensions and cut offs. Try to square it up.
7. If one is planning for renovation or extensions, construct along the South and West sides.

Next, lets look into the the positioning of rooms in a house.
1. Two very important criterias that decides the well being of any occupants in a house is the kitchen and the Master bedroom
2. Nowadays developers always build houses having its master bedroom at the front portion. Having an East facing house is good, but East Master bedroom does not comply with vastu. Having West or South facing house is average, but positioning of the Master bedroom is good. So one has to compromise either one when buying a house or make structural changes.
3. Strictly avoid kitchen along the Northeast and Southwest directions. It destroys the progress of the occupants in many ways. It affects, relationship, finance and health.
4.Kitchen should should only be along the the Southeast zone, which is the Fire sector. The next alternative is Northwest zone, which is the wind sector. This zone is permitted because Wind supports fire. The other 2 sectors, which are Water and Earth destroys fire.
4. Master bedroom should be positioned along the West zone. Avoid having it along East or North Zone. South zone is good, but the bed should be towards the Southwest side.

These few important criterias will be very helpful to you when buying a house or any kind of property. It also applies on investing purposes like acquiring tenants easily and it is possible to have its market value increased. If you have a property that cannot be sold over a long period, make use of this checklist and study the house, get it fixed and clients will be coming down searching for you!
